Current time in Phoenix:
National Children of Incarcerated Parents Conference
Each spring, the ASU Center for Child Well-Being hosts the National Children of Incarcerated Parents Conference to further awareness of the impact of incarceration on children and families, and to increase community capacity to respond in helpful and healing ways. We started the conference because of the general lack of awareness of the almost 3 million children who currently have a parent incarcerated, and the approximate10 million who have experienced parental incarceration at some point during their childhood.
Our conference is unique in that it provides an opportunity to listen, dialogue, learn, network, and collaborate. Our presenters range from those with lived experience of incarceration (parents, children, and caretakers), to teachers, faith-based community members, researchers, advocates, child welfare and legal professionals, as well as others who interact with children and families affected by incarceration on a daily basis.
This year’s conference is titled The Ann Adalist-Estrin Memorial National Children of Incarcerated Parents Conference: Moving Forward Through Uncertainty
This two and a half day gathering will be held at SkySong, Arizona State University’s Scottsdale Innovation Center, located in Scottsdale, Arizona on April 7, 8 and ½ day on the 9th, 2025. The conference brings together those with lived experience, advocates, researchers, policy makers, and a broad range of community professionals who work with children and families affected by incarceration.
We are also excited to announce that we will be once again offering Virtual options for those who can't attend in person. This year, we will be using the Whova platform which will offer a more interactive and personal experience for our virtual audience.
2025 Conference rates:
In-person – $275 (early bird) and $325 (regular pricing)
Virtual only – $125 (early bird) and $175 (regular pricing)
