Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Will the conference be virtual, live, or hybrid?

A. The 5th Annual Children of Incarcerated Parents National Conference will take place virtually in 2023. 


Q. What dates and times will the conference take place?

A. The 5th Annual Children of Incarcerated Parents National Conference will take place on Mondays, April 17th, April 24th, and May 1st and will start at 8:00 am Arizona Time/Pacific Daylight Time Zone (GMT -7) 

Q. Do you have a schedule for the conference?

A. The schedule is not currently available, but we will be sure to make announcements on our social media and to our mailing list when its available. 


Q. How will I access the conference? 

A. Once again, we will use an online platform called Whova for our event. You can Download the Whova Mobile App or Access It From the Web Platform on Desktop:

  • View the event agenda and plan your personal schedule
  • Access handouts, video recording, or streaming (if the event organizer uploaded them) directly within sessions and utilize the session Q&A to ask questions (if enabled by the organizers)
  • Set up in-person/virtual meet-ups with other attendees to connect and network
  • Create and converse through various Discussion Topics in the Community Board
  • Receive updates such as last-minute session changes from the organizers

After downloading, you will use the email that you sign up with to access the Whova mobile apps or web portal. Make sure you choose a strong password. You can also sign up using a social media account. Once you have signed up, you should be taken directly to the event!


Q. What topics will be discussed on which days?

A. Tracks and topics will be announced later this year. We will be sure to announce them on our social media platforms and through our mailing list. 


Q. I can’t attend all of the sessions; will they be available for viewing later?

A. Yes, recordings of each of the sessions will be available for viewing for a period of 6 weeks after the conference. 

Q. Will CEUs be available for this conference?

A. Yes, we will be providing CEUs through NASW. Details on the number of units and cost, and how to purchase them will be announced prior to the conference. 

Q: I/my organization cannot afford the registration fee. Are there scholarships available to attend the conference?

A: We anticipate having a limited number of scholarships available again for CIP2023. If you would like to apply for a scholarship or have questions about scholarships, please send an email to childwellbeing@asu.edu

Q: My organization would like to register multiple people but will need to pay by check. How can we do that?

A: If you need to request an invoice to pay by check, please send an email to childwellbeing@asu.edu indicating the following information:

  1. The name of your organization.
  2. The contact person who should receive the invoice.
  3. The name of each individual that will be attending and what days they will be registered.
  4. The number of total registrations to be invoiced.

When the request is received, an invoice will be created and emailed for submission with payment.


Q. Our organization would like to sponsor the conference, are there sponsorship opportunities available?

Q. Will you be offering virtual exhibit booths this year?

A. Yes, we have exhibitor options for both non-profit and for-profit organizations. Additional details can be found on the Sponsor and Exhibitor Opportunities page.
