Frequently Asked Questions


Q. What dates and times will the conference take place?

A. The 4th Annual Children of Incarcerated Parents National Conference will take place on Wednesdays, March 30th, April 6th, and 13th and will start at 8:00 am Arizona time/Pacific Daylight Time Zone (GMT -7) 

Q. Do you have a schedule for the conference?

A. Yes! The full conference schedule can be found here.


Q. How will I access the conference? 

A. We will use an online platform called Whova for our event. You can Download the Whova Mobile App or Access It From the Web Platform on Desktop:

  • View the event agenda and plan your personal schedule
  • Access handouts, video recording, or streaming (if the event organizer uploaded them) directly within sessions and utilize the session Q&A to ask questions (if enabled by the organizers)
  • Set up in-person/virtual meet-ups with other attendees to connect and network
  • Create and converse through various Discussion Topics in the Community Board
  • Receive updates such as last minute session changes from the organizers

After downloading, use the email that you used when signing up to access the Whova mobile apps or web portal. Make sure you choose a strong password. You can also sign up using a social media account. Once you have signed up, you should be taken directly to the event!


Q. What topics will be discussed on which days?

A. All three days will include sessions concerning the three focus tracks. The three tracks are:

  • Track 1: Understanding the effects of incarceration on children, youth, their families, and caregivers
  • Track 2: Connecting children, youth, and families during and after incarceration
  • Track 3: Supporting and centering the voices and experiences of children and youth


Q. I can’t attend all of the sessions; will they be available for viewing later?

A. Yes, recordings of each of the sessions will be available for viewing for a period of 6 weeks after the conference. 

Q. Will CEUs be available for this conference?

A. Yes, we will be providing CEUs through NASW. Details on the number of units and cost, and how to purchase them will be announced at the conference. 

Q: I/my organization cannot afford the registration fee. Are there scholarships available to attend the conference?

A: Yes! Thanks to generous sponsors, we have a limited number of scholarship opportunities available. If you would like to apply for a scholarship or have questions about scholarships, please send an email to childwellbeing@asu.edu

Q: My organization would like to register multiple people but will need to pay by check. How can we do that?

A: If you need to request an invoice to pay by check, please send an email to childwellbeing@asu.edu indicating the following information:

  1. The name of your organization.
  2. The contact person who should receive the invoice.
  3. The name of each individual that will be attending and what days they will be registered.
  4. The number of total registrations to be invoiced.

When the request is received, an invoice will be created and emailed for submission with payment.


Q. Our organization would like to sponsor the conference, are there sponsorship opportunities available?

Q. Will you be offering virtual exhibit booths this year?
